This handsome lad is the chorizo burrito from Los Amigos. It’s great to find a place that whips up a tasty chorizo without drowning the whole deal in excess grease.

Another trip to Los Amigos for a tasty chicken burrito. I don’t think we often consider effervescence but this one’s got it.
You know, certain meat options don’t work in burritos. Chorizo for example. That delicious spicy sausage is way too greasy for me to enjoy it unless it’s mixed in with some eggs to absorb the excess grease, or just simplified into taco form.
I had it in my head that lengua falls into the same category of tacos-only cuisine. But for this outing to Los Amigos I decided to try a lengua burrito, and it was pretty good. Lengua can backfire spectacularly if not prepared well but this was tender and tasty. All that said, I still think it’s better in short bursts instead of a burrito haul. Maybe alongside a variety of tacos in which lengua is one part of the rich tapestry.
My favorite breakfast is always gonna be the g o a t from El Charrito but this chorizo from Los Amigos is dang good! Fresh fillings and they throw in a side of chips with phenomenal sauces.
