I mainly follow illustrators and cartoonists. It hurts too much to see writing, the long personal bits. It’s uncomfortable and sort of depressing. Forget about reading anyone whose writing I admired. Any indication of a person moving forward in life is like a pushpin in my back. They add up.

But hey, that’s a don’t. I do feel proud of my work through the last couple of years. These projects are the culmination of a dream come true. It’ll be tough to find the same joy somewhere else. Alternative measures will be necessary. I feel most inspired by illustration and deafening nature walks. A more direct outlet for the images in one’s head. Capturing moments. I’m going to pursue them for a bit and get a feel for visual living.

I laugh a lot, a whole damn lot. It’s like a shot of something nice. I wrote this to hold off a laugh tonight. I’d never get to sleep if I did.

Die in the desert, away from the surrounded places. It’ll all be a desert soon. Their yards of old clotheslines and dead grass.
