My favorite animals are the ones that look like a rock but if you cut it open it has normal meat inside and red blood. I wish we could do that with architecture, machinery, consumer electronics etc.
Obviously certain real critters and Pokemon, but never forget the Vacuumorph from Dougal Dixon’s Man After Man.
Dropsy is a special game unrecognized in its own time and I hope history reflects on this with more appreciation. I loved it for my own reasons of feeling like a big galoot who just wants to be in the world without people being scared of me.

This cover for a collection of short stories makes me deeply uncomfortable.
In an apparent bout of completionist madness, I am not just reading the Bible (Douay-Rheims complete) for the first time, but reading it in order, because ya can’t go skipping important details like DIY tabernacle construction. I just finished 2 Kings (4 Kings for Catholics because Samuel gets no respect???) and whoof. Just when you think you’re past the listicle part of the Bible, they pull you back in.
But the podcast accompaniment of @apocrypals has been a saving grace. Sure they drop the hot Bible content but the ska content has been top notch as well.
“Long live the new flesh” this and “surgery is the new sex” that but which director is brave enough to tackle the horror of sweating too much.
