We really miss the tactility of cartridge-ized tech like this. Give us modularity give us tactility back.
Give me an antenna that sticks out of the top
Yeah that was a big part of why my Vintage Computer Festival exhibit was on floppy and optical discs. These are bits of vintage tech that are specifically designed to be handled by humans. They’re very tactile, especially compared to a lot of the other stuff at vintage tech festivals and museums, which tend to be “DO NOT TOUCH THIS” types.
Having seen @foone’s exhibit at VCF West XIII & XIV, I can say with 100% certainty, she does a fantastic job. Hands-on experience with history is what a vintage computer festival exhibit should be all about, and this right here is a prime example.
