here’s my yearly “donate to a website that matters” post
instead of donating to a site that willingly hosts cp of real life children and teens please consider donating to archive.org.
archive.org preserves any type of media you can imagine. books, music, websites, software, pretty much anything that can fit on a computer. it’s nearly the modern-day library of alexandria.
archive.org has given me so many resources that i would otherwise not have access to, such as obscure books, obscure music, dead webpages, legacy software and way more. it’s helped me find so many things that i thought were lost to the aether forever.
as you can imagine with the amount of data they have to store, keeping the site running is costly. much like wikipedia, they function on donations (as no one with mad money would be interested in anything remotely as beneficial as knowledge preservation).
