vintagegeekculture:

Set in the Cyberpunk Los Angeles of the incredibly futuristic year 1999, “Virtuosity” (1995) is a movie where Russell Crowe plays Sid 6.7, a VR computer composite of 137 different serial killers, who escapes into the real world. Denzel Washington plays an LAPD officer released from prison trying to track him down. The premise is similar to Demolition Man, another film where the villain is a scenery chewing sociopath played by an actor having a lot of fun, unleashed on a future world unprepared for him, who plays cat and mouse with a police officer released from prison.

In one notable sequence, Russell Crowe struts in a purple suit on entering reality.

Keep your eyes peeled for Kaley Cuoco as a child actress.

Just like that, I’m reminded that Virtuosity, Johnny Mnemonic, and Gattaca all exist, though I haven’t watched any of them. Time for a triple feature.
