I think one of my favourite parts in horror is the end when we get a glimpse of The Final Girl (or whoever) trying to go back to their ‘normal’ life prior to the traumatic events of the preceding story and an uncanniness sets in – beyond the question of whether the horror could repeat itself. the horror of life once you’ve ‘survived’ is distinct from the horror of survival in the midst of the action – it’s a return to a passive state of being that feels discordant with what we’ve seen it takes to be alive

Sometimes I meet people who are in a relationship and it’s like yeah they absolutely pull scams together in that ride or die sorta way that happens when certain brains click. Entrepreneurial types, you know. People whose every waking moment seems dedicated to business(es) and it’s all a desperate pursuit of something besides wealth, god knows what.

And I won’t judge how or why they got to this point in life, but I sure do want to warn everyone around them to r u n.
